Meet Rene

I was so hungry all of the time and I remember my mommy waking me up early on Saturday mornings so we could have breakfast from a church who served it under the bridge with other homeless people. Sometimes we got to share a bed and other times we slept with other people in a big room at the homeless shelter. It was always scary. I wore the same clothes every day because mommy said we couldn’t carry too much while we walked around looking for food and a place to sleep. The shelters were so cold and their blankets were very thin, but it was way better than the nights outside. I cried when my mommy told me that we finally had a home to live in and that I would never be cold and hungry again.

Our goal is to STOP child homelessness forever: one child, one family and one community at a time. Part of our mission is working with individuals, communities, churches and governments to increase awareness about the crisis of family and child homelessness, to provide outreach services, to advocate for needed programs, to work in partnership with child protective services departments, and to foster the development of strong families and communities.
